This Aphrodite Vessel | Alchemical Vas Hermeticum reinterprets the goddess not as a static myth, but as a living process of “blooming” self-integration. This vessel is a unique creation. It has not been cast or molded. However, the archaic deities like Aphrodite are recurring spirits in the Theatre of Matter. While Aphrodite you see here is a unique emergence from the prima materia, her lineage will continue to evolve through different scales, textures and details in future acts. To collect a piece is to own a specific moment in that evolution.
The medium: white stone clay body, coiled, sculpted, and finished with engobe and surface texture forming glaze. To reach the “vintage” looking face, stain wash and mate glaze were used. Fired up to cone 6 (1220*C) in oxidation atmosphere.
The Scale: approximately H48 x W21cm; weight approximately 2 kg
The Vessels Intent: Can serve as a vas, functional jar for love messages or just as standalone interior sculpture.
Care instructions: hand-wash only. Avoid abrasive materials.
